Introduction

We are an Arma 3 WW2 unit and community based on the 1st Airborne Division, specifically the 1st Parachute Brigade, 2nd Battalion, B Company - as well as some attached units. We pride ourselves on being historically accurate and providing our members with an authentic simulation experience.

Our focus is on playing highly realistic PvP events but these only come every few weeks; the rest of the time we play PvE (against AI) events.

We'll be taking part in historic battles that range from the start of the war to the end.

B Company HQ and 16th PFA

B Company Headquarters holds the company staff and the overhead structure for the unit - including some mission staff, batmen, and runners. Many other elements attach themselves onto the Company HQ in order to fit inside the overall structure.

One of these elements is 16th (Parachute) Field Ambulance, No.2 Section. 16PFA are the medical aspect of Red Devils and they aim to keep everyone in fighting shape. The medics train the entire group on the ACE Advanced Medical system. Being a medic is a popular route to go down and is often highly contested - there's only a limited number of slots!

No.4 and No.5 Platoons

These platoons are the main fighting force of the group - featuring the largest section sizes and the most action. The platoons aim to train our members to the high standard of elite paratroopers.

Personnel within No.4 and No.5 Platoon can be tasked with a wide variety of tasks including being a main assault force, a stand-off maneuver element, or a specialised anti-tank section, to name a few examples.

Soldiers within the platoons have a few options for the role they will take including being part of a Bren team, being a rifleman, and various leadership positions. Further positions include marksmen, wireless operators, runners, or AT riflemen.

No.3 Section, Anti-Tank & No.10 Section, D Troop

No.3 Section, Anti-tank, 1st Airlanding Anti-tank Battery, Royal Artillery (Attached):

Attached to B Coy HQ is a small element from the Royal Artillery. These Gunners provide some hard hitting anti-tank capabilities in the form of a 6-pounder AT gun that allow us to efficiently and quickly deal with enemy armoured threats. The section trains primarily on the destruction of enemy vehicular assets. Members of this section are held to high expectations - enemy armour pieces pose a large threat to us as light infantry and must be dealt with as quickly as possible. The section takes pride in knowing that they are the best when it comes to their assigned tasks.

No.10 Section, D Troop, 1st Airborne Reconnaissance Squadron (Attached):

Also attached to B Coy HQ is a section that soley focuses on providing 'recce' to the company. This asset often utilises jeeps or other fast moving vehicles that allows them to relocate with speed. The idea is to get eyes onto the enemy without them even knowing. The action found here is much different to that of the infantry platoons.


No.74 Squadron, Royal Air Force

We also have No.74 "Tiger" Squadron RAF who aid the Company with transport, close air support, air superiority, reconnassiance, and logisitics.

As a pilot within the Squadron you will take command of a variety of planes in order to keep our troops on the ground safe and resupplied. Being a pilot within No.74 Squadron is a highly respected role though this respect is not something you get; it has to be earned.

Gameplay Style

Our aim at Red Devils is to provide a historically accurate, enjoyable, and authentic experience; to do this we have multiple systems in place.

You can expect our organisation and structure to be historically accurate, backed by multiple sources and hours of research. This often includes limited equipment and no radios at section level. Sometimes we have to make slight adjustments for usage within Arma 3 but we try to avoid this.

First person is fixed, there is no crosshair, and you'll find very minimal HUD throughout your entire experience.

Many of the modifications that we use will offer extended functionality to the Arma 3 platform including: advanced weapon ballistics, suppression effects, weapon handling, intelligent AI, an advanced medical system, and an integrated 3D voice communications system.

Terminology will be correct for the country and time period - a 'wedge' formation does not exist, radios are called a wireless, and Lieutenant is pronounced 'Left-tenant'.

You must have a legal and working copy of Arma 3 installed.
