 During the actions in Tunisia (BiA PvP 20 Sep 20) while fighting the German Fallschirmjäger for control of the desert airfield; CSgt C. Carrick advanced upon the southern hill known as SANDCASTLE, leading nearly the entire platoon upon where they made contact with the already entrenched enemy. CSgt. C. Carrick immediately took charge of the assault, directing the sections to spread out and envelop the enemy positions. He then began ordering harassing fire while smaller elements got in position to assault the enemy from behind.
After this action was conducted, the result was complete superiority of the hill for the British Forces. Upon linking up with his platoon commander, CSgt. C. Carrick continued to lead men in the defense of the hill, and conducted effective suppression of enemy positions further north. Afterwards he directed covering the approach of the team that was sent to demolition blast the enemy aircraft in the hangars, resulting in an overwhelming British victory.
