Community Update No.7
10JUL19 2051 hrs UTC+1

The first change in the community is a simple one - we're now numbering our Community Updates and Awards and Promotions posts - this should make it easier to identify a post in the future. Not a major change but definitely helps for some administration.

We will be transitioning into using a Recruit Section. This section will be the responsibility of Company and will be where all of the new recruits get placed. Company staff will then be able to monitor the recruits more directly and prevent any inactive personnel from entering into the platoons.

We've currently got quite a few positions that are in high demand:
  • We need more NCOs - each section within No.4 Platoon can have three NCOs and we may need to open No.3 Section soon. Therefore, we are in need of more NCOs.
  • One of the most difficult jobs within the group is the manufacture of missions and scenarios - if you'd like to help out please send in an application to be a Game Master.
  • We are going to be running a Signals course soon for those interested in becoming either a Wireless Operator or just signals trained. There will be limited spaces available for this course.
  • We are going to be opening the fourth and final medic slot. Your application for this slot should be the best it can be, as no other slots will open for 16th (Parachute) Field Ambulance.

If you are interested in any of the roles above please find more information about the role here: http://reddevilsarma.org/forumdisplay.php?fid=67 and if you have any additional questions please contact the appropriate NCO or Officer.

I want to congratulate all of the members in attendance to the last recruit evaluation as you could have easily started commanding recruits about, however, you left them to their own devices and this helped us in evaluating their individual performances.

With my recent promotion and move to Company Headquarters, we will begin to operate more as a company structure. Each platoon should be given more freedom in how they operate, within limits, allowing commanders throughout more flexibility.

From CSgt. N. Barden: "This is a team game and we need to work together to achieve the best outcome. Take the failures in your trainings and turn them into lessons. This goes especially for all of leadership, now is the time to up the game to the next level and strive to make your platoon the best platoon. It is not a competition but a challenge and if every platoon is doing that we become a better company as a whole".

The events coming up are an Attack of Carentan mission and then a PvP with 7th Armoured Division and 23rd Panzer Division. In August we will be joining the 82nd Airborne Division [B/1/504] in a joint operation - the Battle of Anzio. We will be portraying the British forces but exact details are still being decided on.

Please continue to use the 'Questionnaires and Polls' category on the forums and the #member-ideas channel on Discord so we can tailor this experience for the community. If you want to do something let us know, we can gauge interest, do a side event, or something else in order to help deliver the experience you want. If you want to gauge interest for an idea you have you can also post in these channels.
