The following personnel have been awarded the MILITARY MEDAL:

Acting Sergeant S. Heikkinen

"S. Heikkinen selflessly jump onto an exposed machine gun in the standing position and engaged a Japanese tank. With the tank returning fire with shells, Heikkinen continued the engagement eventually disabling the tank's main gun forcing the driver to ram Heikkinen's building. This enabled nearby friendlies the ability to maneuver to move up to deal the final blow and force its total destruction. He was very exposed and miraculously avoided injury but was able to disable the effectiveness of this tank as to avoid further damage to friendly forces."
