Red Devils :: British Airborne Portal

  6th GTB, 4th CSG changed to 6th AARR

The 6th Guards Tank Brigade, 4th Coldstream Guards, C Squadron will be changed to the 6th Airborne Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment, A Squadron.

This change comes with multiple points to note.
1. The Squadron's role has changed from an infantry supporting armour asset to now a reconnaissance element.
2. The Squadron will now be utilising Cromwell tanks rather than Churchill tanks.
3. The Squadron no longer uses Guard ranks.


The following changes to personnel have been made:

Acting Lance Sergeant Horsman is now an Acting Corporal. 
Note that this is not a promotion nor a demotion, just a change in title.

Guardsman F. Stangenberger is now Trooper F. Stangenberger.

Guardsman J. Weaver is now Trooper J. Weaver.

Cpl. M. Patterson  has not changed role; he is the Section Commander for 1 Section, No.4 Platoon.

Pte. M. Bogey is assigned to 1 Section.

  Commendations: Awards

As you may have seen already, we have recently finished our implementation of awards, medals, and stars. From the events that have already taken place within the unit we will be backtracking some commendations:

"Barden has received the George Medal for showing outlasting devotion to Red Devils by continuously waking at times of 0400 hrs to partake in events. Other notable actions include the extensive unit relations work he endeavours in and the endless effort he injects into the group in everything that he does."

  PvP Modset Update

PvP Modset update
06SEP18, 1945 hrs

In the case that you're coming along to this Saturday Event and PvP then please ensure if you are using steam workshop mods* you remove the following mods from the modlist:
- 6th Airborne Division Uniforms - WW2
- 6th Guards Tank Brigade Uniforms - WW2
- 50th Infantry Division Uniforms - WW2
- GRAD Trenches
- IFA3 Liberation

* = Use Steam Workshop at your own risk. If a mod updates you may be at risk of being a version ahead of what's running on the server. (Their server shouldn't be key signed so it shouldn't be too bad)

  180930 Name Formatting Change

180930 Name Formatting Change
30SEP18, 0032 hrs


From 01OCT18 MONDAY every unit member will need to add their initial into their name. Members can also make this change for the 30SEP18, however, the change will not be enforced until October.

For example "2Lt. Horner" becomes "2Lt. B. Horner".

Please inform your Section Commander of the initial you will be adding as this will need to be reflected in your XML entry on our server. Users' forum accounts and in-game names will also need to be updated.

The reason for this change is the historically accuracy and additional so members with the same surnames can be present within the community without causing confusion or without one changing their surname.
